7.12.010 Firearms in designated area. Firearms may be fired within the city limits in a designated area or building constructed to specifications of the city council for such purpose as target practice under authorized supervision. (Prior code AO §6.02.15)
7.12.020 Carrying concealed weapons. If any person or persons other than a public servant in the discharge of lawful duty carries, concealed about his person in any manner whatsoever, any revolver, pistol, or other firearms, or any dirk, dagger, or any other instruments by the use of which injury could be inflicted upon the person of another, such person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, unless the person, at the time of possession, was (i) in the person's own dwelling, or on land owned or leased by him appurtenant to the dwelling, or (ii) was actually engaged in lawful hunting, fishing, trapping or other lawful activity that necessarily involves the carrying of a weapon for personal protection. 7.12.030 Exhibiting dangerous weapon. Any person who in an angry or threatening manner exhibits any pistol, knife or other dangerous weapon shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. (Prior code AO §6.02.05)
7.12.040 Discharging firearms. Any person, other than public servants in the discharge of lawful duty who, without justifiable cause, fire or discharge any cannon, gun or pistol, or any other firearms of any description anywhere within one thousand yards of any residence without first having obtained permission from the city council, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. No person shall discharge a firearm towards or over the city. (Prior code AO §6.02.00)
7.12.050 Weapons at special functions. Any person or person's who is attending a special function such as Blue Grass Festival, other than a public servant in the discharge of lawful duty carries, about his person in any manner whatsoever, any revolver, pistol, or other firearms, or any dirk, dagger, knife, machete, or any other instruments by the use of which injury could be inflicted upon the person of another, such person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
