7.08.010 Curfew generally. It shall be unlawful for any parent or guardian having control of minor children to permit any child or children, or for any child within the age groups specified in this chapter, to be upon or around public streets, dances, or social functions held in public halls or other public places in the city after the curfew hours specified in this chapter, unless accompanied by his, her or their parent or guardian; provided, that the mayor or an Alaska State Trooper may suspend the effect of this section on specific evenings for special events, such as school dances, and provided further, that children employed after curfew hours may observe such hours as are required by their work upon being given by an Alaska State Trooper a permit to do so. 7.08.020 Hours. The following are established as curfew hours in the city:
A. For all children under the age of sixteen years:
1. Ten p.m. on evenings preceding school days, and eleven p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings from September to May, and
2. Eleven p.m. during the months of June, July and August;
B. For all children having reached their sixteenth birthday but not their eighteenth birthday: Twelve midnight on all evenings throughout the year except those evenings preceding school days, on which days the hour shall be eleven p.m. (Prior code AO §6.07.05)
7.08.030 Violation declared misdemeanor. Any parent or guardian or child violating any provision of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, before the deputy magistrate or magistrate, shall be punished as follows:
A. For the first offense, by a reprimand by the magistrate or the deputy magistrate;
B. For each subsequent offense, by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars. (Prior code AO §6.07.010)
