2.28.010 Resignations. Resignations of officers shall be made in writing and filed with the city clerk, who shall immediately notify the proper officials concerned. (Prior code AO §2.01.45)
2.28.020 Vacancies in office. A city office shall become vacant upon the occurrence of any of the following:
A. The expiration of the term of the term of office;
B. The death of the incumbent;
C. Ceasing to possess at any time the qualifications or eligibility required for election or appointment to office;
D. A resignation when approved by the council;
E. A final conviction of a felony or any offense involving oath of office.
F. The voluntary failure or neglect to attend three consecutive meetings of the council without permission of the council;
G. Failure to take the oath or make the affirmation, or file the bond required for office within ten days from the date of the election or appointment or within such other time, not to exceed thirty days thereafter, as the council may fix. (Ord. 113 §4(D), 1986: prior code AO §2.01.40)
2.28.030 Filling vacancies. If a vacancy occurs in the council, the council by vote of a majority of its remaining members shall designate a person to fill the vacancy until the next regular election and until a successor is elected and has qualified. (Ord. 113 §4(E), 1986)
