Resolution 07-05
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANDERSON IN SUPPORT OF THE RENAMING OF 1ST AVENUE TO BRETT’S WAY
WHEREAS, the City of Anderson recognizes that individuals can have significant impact on our community and it’s residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anderson recognizes that the tragic death of Brett Thompson should have a lifelong significance on the youth in our community ; and
WHEREAS, the city feels that by renaming the street it will bring forward to our community young adults, the importance of safe driving and the importance of wearing a seatbelt; and
WHEREAS, the city feels that having a street named after this young adult will encourage our youth to think before they get in a vehicle, and that driving is a previledge and not a right; and
WHEREAS, the city feels that no family should have to suffer the loss of a child , and that this name change will have an significant impact on not only todays youth but also the youth in the future; and
WHEREAS, the city feels that by renaming the street Brett’s Way, the change will; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY OF ANDERSON HEREBY SUPPORTS THE INTERIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER TO PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICES IN THE CITY OF ANDERSON.
